About Us

Karen Taylor, owner of Karen’s Catering, LLC started her catering business in 1987 and soon realized that Central PA did not have private event venues to host weddings, business and social events. After years of searching for the perfect property, Karen purchased the property known as Camp Harmony Hall in 1999 with the idea of turning the property into a wedding and event venue. Karen decided to keep the name Harmony Hall due to the numerous stories she had heard about counselor’s meeting and getting engaged on the property as well as the naturally serene setting surrounding the buildings. The name Harmony Hall seemed to fit not only the purpose of the property but the surrounding grounds. The main building was renovated into the grand ballroom, landscaping was completed including a pond with a 20’ waterfall and the first wedding ceremony and reception was held at Harmony Hall on September 19,1999.
Karen has grown from working out of her home to being one of Central PA’s premier wedding venues. Karen and her dedicated staff have produced thousands of events over the past 3 decades in the catering and event business. Harmony Hall Estate is one of the few privately owned venues in Central PA offering on site full service catering, use any cater options, event/wedding planning services, event décor production and numerous service required to plan and produce a successful wedding or event. Over the years Karen has built strong relationships with numerous event vendors creating a one stop wedding/event planning venue.

Over the years Karen has spent countless hours adding new features to the property including numerous wedding ceremony locations, a band stage, an outdoor lounge area and landscaping elements. In 2014 Karen started her most arduous project, restoration of the 1700’s farm house. After two years of exhaustive restorations the farm house was finished just in time for her daughter’s wedding held on June 20, 2016. The farm house features a two story plantation style porch, a first floor gathering area floor capable of holding up to 60 seated guests and a second floor bridal suit which includes two private balconies, a dining room, professionally equipped salon area and a dressing area with a full wall of mirrors. To reflect the numerous features of the property the Harmony Hall was recently renamed Harmony Hall Estate.

Harmony Hall Estate has a long and rich history. The original property was warranted to James Crouch by William Penn and was originally part of the parcel of land currently known today as The Star Barn. During the Spanish and Indian War the property was the farm house was First Regimental Head Quarters and field hospital for the enlisted men. Many local historians and architectural preservationists have visited Harmony Hall Estate to explore it’s rich history.
